Embroidered on red silk. Likely cut out from a flag. Piece is double sided, the lettering is correct on both but the olive branch and arrows positions are reversed. A similar flag found online but not damaged was used by 1st Battalion of New Jersey Engineers 1917-1921. Silk is fragile, many tears along the rough cut edge. Heavier embroidered sections are separating from the silk. Colors are still strong, darkened areas on red. 32 inch diameter.
