Inspired by Peter Paul Rubens’ composition “The Tiger Hunt” (1616). Measures 30.5 inches wide x 1.75 x 37.75 inches tall framed. Measures 29 inches wide x .5 x 36 inches tall unframed. Property from a Distinguished New York Estate. Condition Report: Unlined canvas. Stretcher bar marks at upper and right edges. Buckling to canvas. Major water staining to verso with mold. Stretcher bars with structural timber warping. Frame abrasion at edges. Yellowing to the varnish layer. Scattered scuffs and discolored accretions. Surface dust and dirt. Not examined out of frame.
